Rooted firmly in the present, but with an eye on the past, Orpheus' sets deliver a mix of new acts at the vanguard of the scene, and those that remain at the core. Orpheus' journey began with a deep appreciation for the darker, more atmospheric side of music. Drawing inspiration from the genres of Post-Punk, NDT, Coldwave , Techno and Synthwave, Orpheus creates immersive and evocative soundscapes that resonate with the audience on a profound level. Music not as passive entertainment, but as an active, independent element used to create Verfremdungseffekt, or alienation effect, connecting with those who find solace and inspiration in the dark. As a producer, Orpheus has recently released their debut EP and a number of singles mostly in the Dark Techno genre. Recent releases are inspired by the dystopian fiction of JG Ballard and seek to meld fiction and music into a singular experience. Their sets are carefully curated to take listeners on a journey through the shadows, blending haunting nihilistic melodies with pulsating beats to create a unique and captivating experience.
